Think Tank Streetwalker Hard Drive Question

->> I need a backpack that can carry a bunch of gear plus a 15" Macbook Pro. I've got lots of Think Tank bags, plus their belt system. Everything I've seen and read about the Think Tank Streetwalker Hard Drive leads me to believe it will serve my purposes. My only concern is that the laptop space in the bag is at the back, between the shoulder straps and the main compartment. So in effect, the laptop would be against my back, and I'm wondering if this will put undue stress on the laptop (bag full of gear, weighty, pressed up against the laptop pressed up against my back). I'm fairly confident Think Tank wouldn't design such a problem into one of their bags, but would like to hear from any of you who might own this bag whether my concern is founded.
(I have sent an email to Think Tank asking about this, but haven't yet heard anything from them so thought I'd throw this out to the SS message board.) Thanks in advance. --Russ |

->> Russ,
It's not the same bag, but I usually pack a very full Lowepro Computrekker, and it has the same setup with the laptop in a sleeve right between your back and the gear. It's never been a problem.

->> Russ,
I've used a number of bags where the laptop is situated between my back and the main compartment of the bag and my laptop has never suffered because of it. I've traveled from Madison, WI to Sri Lanka and around Duluth, MN and each time the laptop came out perfectly fine. |

| ->> I initially had the same concern, but haven't had a problem yet (with a MBP 15" or MBP 13"). If I really load up the Hard Drive, I usually attach the Pro Belt to distribute some of the load. My pack has topped 30 lbs some days and the laptop(s) are fine. |
