Silly question but--I can't seem to locate on the Adobe site exactly how to get a new serial number. Do I have to buy a new CS3 disc and start over?
ALso-if there is anyone here that would like to trade a brand new unopened unregistered CS4 Windows for the MAC version of CS3 or 4, email me |

| ->> Odds are you can acquire one over the phone --- and yes it will involve the transfer of cash, if you're still using CS3 on all of those computers. I believe each serial number is good for one desktop and one laptop (or two computers), with the proviso that you shouldn't be using both at the same time.... |

->> Debra, I don't know for sure but I imagine it would be unless you get into volume licensing:

When you don't want to use Photoshop on a particular computer anymore (because you're selling it, etc.) remember to use the help menu inside Photoshop to "Deactivate" that installation which will free-up a copy so you can install it on a new computer. |

| ->> Debra, I just went through this and you can find your serial # on the Adobe site if you bought and registered the CS3 with Adobe. Login and go to your account and look at sales history and you will find the transaction and serial #. When I found and entered my serial # a msg said I was over my # of activations. I emailed a tech report to Adobe to tell them and they cleared it up next day so I could activate. One of the few good experiences I have had with Adobe. Good luck. |

Adobe will do that. I think they call it a "cross-grade". |

->> Debra,
I just bought a new desktop and during the transfer/load process I was not able to install CS3. I had to "deactivate" a previously installed version as the license only allows two copies to be installed. I had a copy on the old PC that I was transfering from as well as one on my laptop.
In order for me to load the new PC I had to "deactivate" one of the other two.
This is done under the help menu.
Not sure if this helps but if you are looking to have more than two computers loaded AND operational I believe this means you need to buy a multiple license version or another single user version.
Hope this helps.
