| ->> Several people asked me to post samples of volleyball shots with 7D after I shot the first game with it. All of the photos are as they cam out of the camera, no post processing. Only thing that was done was a little cropping in Photomechanic. ISO was 5000, shutter 1/1000 aperture 2.8. Shot with a 70-200 2.8 and a custom white balance was done with Expodisc. Expanded center auto focus was used. If you hover mouse in upper left hand corner you will see all Meta data info. http://tomsuarez.zenfolio.com/llano_vs_burnet_varsity_volleyball |

| ->> I was just trying something different and it allows me to fill the frame with more of the player. Sorry about making you dizzy. Hope you get to feeling better soon. |

->> Ric, The auto focus is great as well as the fps. I found the focus works a lot better if used in the center point with expansion points on. I tried using it with all 19 focus points but it did not work as good and went back to center point with expansion. It did not seem to track very well and would lose focus. I think it may be that it would focus on the closest object like it says in the manual. Since I was shooting at f2.8 it was very shallow dof anyway. About fps it is very fast and seems quieter than my other 2 cameras (40D and Mark IIn)
One thing I did notice is you can not judge focus or exposure from the LCD. When I would look at a photo right after it was shot while it was being written to the card it would appear to be very dark. After it was finished writing and pressing the preview button it would be mucher brighter and look correct. I guess the camera does some type of compensation when you are viewing in light because it did not do this when shooting football. |
