->> G'day!
The other day i used a Sandisk Extreme III 2gb at a portrait shoot, plugged it into my Mac and it displays no images, The camera and PC both show its full but wont shot anything on it. Sandisk Data Recovery seems to freeze up and not work so im after any other ideas.
Prefer free software.
Thanks |

->> Although its not free, Photo Rescue (found at http://www.datarescue.com) will let you download the software and see if it will work before purchasing it.
It's always worked for me, and at $29 it was the best money I spent in a long time. |

| ->> Think the Sandisk one is working now but they are great for future reference. Is the Photo Rescue a one of payment or yearly? |

->> Glad you've got it working now. I've personally always had the best luck with the included SanDisk software.
Also remember that the Extreme cards have a dedicated support line, printed on the back of the card, if you continue to have trouble. |

->> The Sandisk recovery software is good but only works on removable media; I had an issue a few days ago where I accidentally deleted nearly 3000 RAW files on one of my HDD's from one event - RescuePro wouldn't allow me point it to a HDD so I started to sweat somewhat.
A quick scour of the web led me to an app called PhotoRec - it's freeware (donations are possible / recommended) and, although it not the 'prettiest' application, it sure got the job done... all files recovered within two hours
The link to the software is http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/PhotoRec
It saved my bacon :) |
