Zoom H4N Help

->> I just picked up a Zoom H4N for field recording and multimedia stuff, and I have a few questions that I am hoping someone here might know the answer to. I was wanting to use a condenser mic that I have that takes phantom power in one of the XLR inputs and another mic that I have that doesn't need phantom power. Is it possible to have phantom power going to one mic and not the other? Would it damage the mic that doesn't need phantom power to plug it in with phantom power on? Thanks in advance for any help, and if anyone knew of any great web tutorials on recording great field audio that they have found, I would appreciate that too. I have done a ton of searching but I just can't seem to find exactly what I am looking for. Anyone using the H4N or anything similar have a great set-up they would like to share?
