iPhone app for transferring documents and image files
Jonathan Roberts, Photographer
Louisville | KY | USA | Posted: 10:40 AM on 10.06.09
->> I need an application where I can send documents or photos from my computer to my iPhone and then send those files via e-mail to where they need to go. The computer does not have an Internet connection. I've found a couple of apps that work only via WiFi, but not synced with an USB cable.

I'm not interested in jail-braking the phone.

Thanks,
Jonathan

->> Mr. Roberts,

You could try either FileMagnet or Good Reader...I think either would do the job for you...

->> Quickoffice Files does this by issuing a IP address (must be on the same wifi network as you computer) where you can transfer files back and forth.

If you have a .mac account you can use the iDisk and the free iDisk app from Apple

->> Jonathan, you should be able to get the WiFi apps to work even when the computer doesn't have an internet connection. Simply use the computer to create an Ad-Hoc WiFi network and then have the iPhone connect to it. When you do this the computer acts as the WiFi base station.

After transferring the files have the iPhone disconnect from WiFi so it will switch back to 3G and then you can send out your files.
