->> There was a discussion a few months back, but want to see if anybody's using them now (over photoshelter, or one of the other services)? I have used and like mpix.com, which zenfolio partners with, and am weighing using them.
I'm not high volume, as most of my good stuff is owned by my paper, I just want to sell some of my personal work, and backcatalogue of travel/nature images.
Extra cash is good these days. |

->> We've begun using Zenfolio at work. I'm still too new to provide any advice, but I threw in the towel after dealing with synchronization issues with a Labtricity lab on Photoreflect. I use a Mac so it was just becoming a PITA to use Windows everytime an order came in.

->> I use Zenfolio and have been with them over a year and am 100% happy with them. I also shoot for several newspapers and offer prints for sale throught them. I have unlimited space and currently have 22000 images online. I upload full size images so it serves as a back up. I also have access to my images from my laptop from anywhere so I can download images when needed. Here is my code to get 10.00 of to sign up. When you sign up you will also get a credit to your account when anyone signs up under you. GER-BS4-UGY and my website is www.tomsuarez.net

->> I like Zenfolio as I find it very easy to create, adjust price lists and copy protect/watermark my images. They also have cropping preferences for your customers if you were to sell different print sizes.

->> Been with ZF for a few years now and have been very pleased. When I have directed clients there, the feedback has always been great as well. Its tough to find much to complain about with them and using MPIX is a real plus.

->> Robert,
I use Zenfolio as the base for my print ordering side of my website. I have been with them over a year now and it has been a very solid performer when it comes to getting things set and going. My only nitpick about them is that lately their server has been slow and thus, it takes a few more seconds to load everything. However, I have never had any problems with their ordering side of things and have been totally satisfied on that end.

->> I tried a zenfolio account, but never really used it. While the price is right and the slideshows look great, the fact that you can't really customize anything is frustrating. Also, the look and feel seems sort of 'soccer mom' to me. I have found Photoshelter just has so much more to offer the professional photographer.

->> I see Zenfolio allows customers to crop images they purchase. Is there any safeguard against cropping to a size where image quality is going to suffer noticeably?

->> Alan, Yes the cropping is done after the size is selected and it will only allow a certain amount of cropping based on size of file. I think when you go too much it will say not enough resolution

->> It bothers me that they aren't interested in expanding their operation. We've asked them if their system could handle 1,000,000 photos and they said "Sure, it's unlimited... have you tried the free trial?" The company I'm working with would like to pay more than their $150 Pro fee, to gain some further extras, like a branded shopping cart and some help customizing our own theme/template, but the customer service reps we talked to don't seem interested at all and kept referring us to the free trial.
