->> Has anyone used LensAlign Focus Calibration?
http://www.lensalign.com/index.html
How was it? Is it as easy as the website says it is? Can you really do it with multiple camera and body combination? Thanks. |

->> To your second question - It's just a measurement system. Call it a "better mousetrap" version of the measuring tape/brick wall combo.
To quote their website it's a "tool for precision focus analysis of camera and lens combinations." |

->> Funny you post this. I was also looking at this and a friend of mine sent me something that he has used with much success. Here's a link to download it. It's a PDF file and you just print it out, cut it out and put it together and he said it worked great for him. I haven't tried it yet, but he said it's much cheaper than $175.

->> I use the LensaAlign product and agree it is purely a tool. however I think it is a pretty good one. I use it while shooting tethered and this makes the adjustments quick and easy for each lens. I have found adjustments on most all lenses going from +/-2 to +/-18. Now I seem to have less "misfocused" shots on the Mark IIn and the mark III and the lenses that were the most out show the most improvement.
when I see the actual differences using this tool, I understand why people complain about "soft lenses" With the technology to make the microadjustments in the camera, this is a tool that is very useful - I bought the $179 version

->> I use one of my son's toys (6-7 inch car) placed on the grass in the backyard... if focus is off the blades of grass will show it....(front or back focus) from there I
fine tune the focus adjustment... has worked great with all of my long lenses.. |

| ->> One thing I would say is avoid the "Lite" model and go "pro." It is extremely difficult to get a precise alignment using the mirror on the "lite" system. I think this system overall is a good idea, but I agree with the "newspaper on a wall" crowd. |
