Interfit STR100 review

->> Anyone use the beauty dish in the Interfit STR100 kit? I'm thinking of buying it, but want to see some feedback from folks I trust in the following areas:
- durability
- weight
- ease of use (time to change them on the fly during a job)
- ability to use with color-correcting filters and holder on sb-800
- security of attachment to sb
- overall value for the money

Thanks.

->> Will,

I've got some of the other Strobies items, but not the beauty dish so I've not used it, but I have looked at it in person. I don't know if you have or not, but these were just my impressions.

I saw it at Roberts when I initially picked up some of the other items and maybe it does the job a beauty dish should, but as far as durability I wasn't real impressed. The dish inside that bounces the light back into the larger reflector only has one rod holding it up which didn't seem enough to me.

Regular beauty dishes always have 3 or 4 rods to support the dish portion and it seemed like Interit chintzed out on this idea. The rod looked like it would bend easily and after enough bending back into position would prob just break completely. It's a shame because I like the other items of theirs I have, the snoot, grids, barn doors. I've got all that stuff just shoved into my light kit and don't worry about it breaking. But I'm not sure how I would carry the dish, it just looks fragile. Or as they say in the Christmas Story, Fragiiiilleeeee. :)
