->> Looks like some serious datacenter issues (according to their front page) since early 9/24. May see a flock of people leave their site given performance and maintenance issues that have come up from time to time.

As of midnight Saturday, still offline.

->> Oh, this isn't good. Nope. Hadn't been on there in a couple days, but am very concerned with their "recovery" plan.

"There was a power failure at our datacenter on the morning of 24-Sep-2009. When power came back, the main database server did not come back online properly."

What kind of datacenter these days has "power failure"? The standard even 20 years ago was back-up generators, myriad redundant mirror hosting sites, etc., to ensure this very thing NEVER happens.

They say "datacenter" as though there is only one? How can this be?

Most discouraging, to say the least. Perhaps it's time to seek a new home for my personal/professional sites...

->> Allen,

I'm familiar with the EPO button from my military days, but I seem to recall these things always having a toggle or some kind of cover over them to preclude an accidental trip.

In any event, pBase is STILL down, which is unequivocally unacceptable, whatever the original cause was. It's now been 80+ hours of being offline.
