Photography courses on DVD?

->> I'm looking for a recommendation on a DVD course I can have my student photographer watch.
She can point a camera very well. However, she apparently doesn't have a decent photography course under her belt. She can't seem to grasp how to balance ISO/Shutter speed and Aperture on her own. For instance she shot soccer this past weekend at ISO 1600 and f32 using Aperture priority mode. F32? I'm just aghast why f32 didn't just sound ridiculous to her when she was shooting. If I tell her how to set the camera up for a specific photo shoot, she's fine.
I know Kodak used to have educational DVDs about using a camera but there has to be something out there that has a very practical method of teaching these fundamentals especially as it relates to photojournalism.
Can anyone make a recommendation on what I could purchase? I need her to be more self sufficient and have more mastery of her camera controls. |

->> While it may not be a DVD, this National Geographic book does an awesome job of covering the basics and giving you what you need to know. It explains the relationship between aperture and shutter speed, gives illustrated examples of the differences between them, and gives tips for just about every shooting scenario. A handy guide that taught me everything I needed in the early days of shooting.

->> Have her check out this website:

It has a lot of basic information. She can use the SimCam to change the variables of a photo and see how the finished product looks.
