->> I was approached recently for a quote.
What percentage of the sale price do I want for my images made available for purchase. This is a division 1 Program selling sports pics to fans in an online store format. Has any one had any experience with this and can you give me a range.

->> One way to go would be a fee to offer the images for sale PLUS a percentage of sales. They probably won't go for it, but it's worth a try.

->> Hi Joe,
just as a mental excercise,

-product price dependent on volume of sales.
whats the fan base and hit volume (looks at their site analytics. How many hits per buy?
-whats their marketing plan for your product?
-whats the placement of product through their search parameters (on site sale placement)
-whats the length of placement on the site (photo only there for a week, there for the season....)
-whats the photo competition on the site (sole photo product or one of many)
-will they give you exclusivity?
-will they put the photo product on mouse pads, cups, saucers, bed sheets (you get the picture).

where does this fit in your business model?

do they control the pricing and you get a percentage of?
would you be willing to sell them a file at XX resolution at XX cost and then they could mark it up as they want?

interesting,
let us know what works best for you.
Mike
