->> Fellow photographer Jamie Francis and I have started a new photo column here at the Oregonian. We are traveling around the state to document the high school football season. Some will be video and some will be audio slideshows.
I am afraid we will have a hard time finding a better story the rest of the season. What a great group of guys ...

If anyone out there has any suggestions for stories, we would love to hear them.

->> Thanks for all the nice notes everyone.
Stanton - We used an Edirol R-09. I'm sure it was user error, but both Jamie and I had a couple problems with the recorder. It has a feature where you hit the record button once and it will allow you to hear the audio through your headphones. This allows you to adjust levels and gives you a good idea what the recorder is hearing. To record you must then hit the same record button a second time and the light goes from blinking to solid. There were two times when I was collecting audio and once when Jamie was collecting that I SWEAR I pushed the button twice. Well, I guess I must have not done it correctly because I looked down after a great halftime speech and the Edirol record light was still blinking -- meaning I could hear it all, but it was not recording. We're still learning. Other than that, the audio sounded great and it is not too big as to get in the way of taking pictures.
Liddy - I already slap Francis daily, but I'll throw another one in there for you!
Kerr - I know you have something good up your sleeve. Cough it up. |
