Macro Photography with a Point and Shoot?

->> Can anybody recommend a good camera for macro photography?

The last time I did serious macro photography I was shooting plants and such for text book photos using a Sony Cybershot camera in 2003. I found it much easier than putting a 50mm or 100mm macro on my regular camera.

Now I'm looking at shooting small mechanical (and electronic) parts for reference material...so any recommendations would be appreciated.

Thanks!

->> I agree with David. My G9 (similar to G10) shoots nicely in macro. Of course, I can mount a pocket wizard on the hot shoe to fire studio strobes, etc.
