->> One of my CSR radio receivers went south recently, just over a year after purchase, so when I called them about repair/replacement I thought that I'd have to pay out.
It seems they have a two year warranty and they not only dispatched a replacement unit immediately but they're having UPS pick up the non-working one in a couple of days. No charge to me.
Excellent customer service. |

->> Jim that is great. Are they still in Tennessee?
That is what you call, "Southern Hospitality."
IT seems like a long time when other manufactures were just as helpful and before everything turned into greed.
Great to see folks still standing by their products and workmanship past that first year of the normal warranty period.
No hassled no questions. Just send it and we will fix it and even pay the S&H charges.
Brilliant!! |

->> Jim, they were living up to their obligation of the warranty. Kudso to them. I had a Photoflex reflector that was nearly five years old which was gold on one side and white on the other.
The gold had cracked and become dull. I emailed Photoflex about it basically just asking if there was anything I could do and they phoned me and sent a replacement, no charge. That's not a flash unit, but it's good customer service and after nearly five years, I was pretty surprised, but happy. |

| ->> I can also attest to Paul Bluff customer service. I had a discontinued White Lightning UltraZap 800 go south on me and they fixed free, no questions asked, sent it back and it's been singing happily ever since. It doesn't get any better than that. |

| ->> I had a transmitter start to fire intermittently and Paul C Buff sent a replacement and a return UPS label. Amazing service. I couldn't give a company a higher recommendation. |

| ->> Ditto, I bought my 1600's 2 years ago and had the older transmitters and receivers, when the new ones came out they gave 100% refund on the old ones so you could purchase the new ones... I though that was super. |

->> Paul Buff is still in Tennessee. And they are a stellar company to deal with. I've been an Alien Bee user for years now and have only had one issue which was promptly and reasonably taken care of by the company.
Yeah, they may not be as rugged or "accurate" as ProFoto, Elinchrom, Dynalite, etc., but they are also hundreds, sometimes thousands, of dollars cheaper. And they're good enough that they're all I use when I need strobes bigger than a speedlite on a stand. I've shot probably close to 100 weddings and countless freelance assignments with my Bees with countless happy clients and customers. Sorry for the plug, but I know that Alien Bees/White Lightning tend to be looked down upon by some.
Jeff, good to know about PhotoFlex. I have a reflector that's done the same thing. I'll have to drop them a line. |

->> Just to chime in on Paul C. Buff,Inc...I have the Vagabond battery that I use for "on-location" shoots and it recently stopped holding a charge well enough to drag it out. I figured out that the charger had a short or something and it wouldn't charge properly and, as a result, the battery drained and couldn't be fully charged. I'd had it for several years, but I called the company and sent it in. For a small fee, they not only replaced the battery and the charger, but they replaced the bag and the connections...essentially a whole new set up! And I had it back in about a week, too.
Those guys are the absolute BEST! I've recommended them to everyone I know looking for high-quality gear from a company that provides even better customer service. |

| ->> Yeah, their customer service is second to none! I bought a three light Zeus kit from a fellow SS member, but when I got it, one of the tubes was broken and another one was cloudy. The lights were only in use for five months at the time. I was hoping they would replace the cloudy one, and I was ready to pay for the cracked one. The crew at Paul C. Buff Inc. replaced them both free of charge... They even gave me a couple rods for my 30" "moon box" free of charge. Even though I was the one who broke that. |

->> +1 for the Bees! Repairs are super as is sales support and when I needed 'extra' information on wiring some remotes one of the worker bees got on the phone and gave me the pin-out for the rj45 connector and the values to get to where I needed to be for a particular output.
Great people to deal with.... Reminds me I need to order more strobes for another T&I setup. |
