->> You can visit Other World Computing (macsales.com) and get all the things you need to replace the HD yourself.
I did that to my Macbook. Very easy to do. Other World Computing has online videos that can show you how to do it. |

->> Debra,
To expand on what Preston said, 7200rpm drives are not available from Apple but it is easy to find a drive that suits your needs and the drive can be replaced by the user pretty easily. |

->> George is correct.
I installed a 7200 Seagate Momentus 500GB drive. Bought that from Other World Computing. They have many HD options you can get.
It is much nicer than the stock drive that came with my Macbook. |

Is there any word yet on a matte screen for the 13" MBP? |

->> MacBook 13" Late 2008 "Unibody"
Hard Drive Install Video
OWC's step-by-step video of how to install a hard drive in the Apple MacBook 13" (Late 2008 "Unibody").
OWC gives instructions for the late 2008 unibody-would it be the same for one bought now? |

->> Apple has instructions in a PDF: http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/MBPRO_13inch_Mid2009_Hard_Drive_DIY.pdf
I recently upgraded mine with the help of SuperDuper from http://www.shirt-pocket.com/. Put the new drive in an external enclosure, connected it via USB and made a bootable copy of the existing hard drive. Used the above manual and swapped the drive.
I actually bought 2 hard drives and keep one in the external enclosure, did a full bootable backup to it and then once a week do an incremental backup. |

->> OWC has a great little tool kit for under $20 that has all the torx and phillips drivers you need plus some other good computer repair tools.
The MB Pro with the non-removable battery is very similar to the one with the externally-available battery bay. You just have to remove more screws and pull the entire back off but it's not too hard. After that is is similar. You pull the battery and then unscrew the drive tray, screw the new drive in the tray and install again. |

I looked there but it says late 2008 unibody. I am just wondering if it would be the same as one I would buy today |

->> +1 on the OWC deal - however, check the new machine warranty. Also - tech service from OWC recommended to me to use Carbon Copy Cloner to replicate my original disk and put the original in external case and keep for backup. CCC makes a bootable copy of the OS and all other programs....... and has saved me with an OS error.
All really easy to do
