->> anyone here using Time Warner for their internet?
It started to run as slow as a dial up 2 weeks ago. This is the case in my home as well as my studio
Anyone else experiencing this?

(transmitting images is fine, it's just s-l-o-w as can be with the internet

->> I assume you've rebooted the modem box, but have you had them reboot it. I don't have it anymore, but over the years that I did, occasionally that was needed.

Also, on the computer side of things, have you checked task manager re: memory usage to make sure there isn't something new sucking it up? Can't remember if it was the new version of IE or something else that had updated, but I had a memory suck that wasn't necessary and once I changed preferences on the program, the problem disappeared.

Actually if it is happening on two separate connections at the same time (assuming your computer setup re: programs is probably identical), the second option seems more likely.

->> Hi Debra,
I am in La Quinta, CA, my Roadrunner/Time Warner service is normal.

If you are using a router, you might want to check other systems hooked up to it if they are infected with malware or spyware. Another component to check is if you have a wireless router, ensure that wireless security is enabled. Unauthorized systems might be using your internet connection which might cause slowness if they are downloading huge files.

It's my first time posting in SS message board. I hope I have helped.

->> I seem to experience fine internet, uplink is very slow, but it has been very slow since I've gotten Time Warner. I usually just go to Starbucks when I have to upload a lot of data - it's that slow!

->> Debra, whenever I have slow issues with my Internet and I have exhausted all my fix attempts at home, I call my provider and their IT people reboot my modem for me. It always has worked and I would try that.

Also, you can try this by going to www.speedtest.net/

It can tell you what your speeds are running.
