Submission procedure for SI photos in front of mag...?
Bert Entwistle, Photographer

->> Does anyone know the procedure for submitting photos to SI for their opening pages...?

I've never tried to submit anything to them before and I can't seem to find out how to do it from their mag. or website.

I'm just thinking about the large individual photos in the front.

Thanks,

bert

Good to know what it is you're submitting for when you're talking to a picture editor at SI.

->> The link Bert H. sent out is not for transmitting your favorite picture to SI. Your best bet is to get a hold of an editor BEFORE your shoot to see if they might be interested in what you are going to work on. SI is a weekly magazine. They will not be interested in something you shot last week or last month. Deadlines are more or less every Sunday night/Monday morning.

->> Bert E.- Don't be offended if they don't reply to you. They receive about 3500 photos per week (and they aren't in the office until Thursday) so they can't email everyone back. If they like what they see though, though get in touch you rather quickly for the high res.
