Nikon D300 or SB800 question
Rob Edwards, Photographer

->> I notice the other day while shooting with my D300 and my SB800 that the red light or red beam that emits from the bottom of the flash is not working while shooting in TTL mode. I have probably changed some settings on my camera or flash and can not get it back. Anyone have any answers to this problem???

->> Do you have it in continuous AF mode ? It only works with single shot AF mode.

Are you testing it in a dark enough environment ? The beam doesn't always emit, just when the camera feels it needs it.

I don't have SB800's anymore but I believe there is also a custom function on the flash for allowing the beam to emit or not. Might want to double check your flash settings or reset them as that would be the next logical step to try in solving the puzzle.
