| ->> Latest version of Firefox. Got on and it seems to be very slow to load. Clicked on several links and waiting, waiting, waiting....Running Verizon FIOS and getting 20MB down and 17.5 MB Up, so me thinks it is your site or server. |

->> The link worked for me, and loaded very quickly. My only real feedback would be that you just have way too many images up on your site and the sheer amount of them means that the really good ones get lost. This waters down your work a lot. Your lead image, the one of the bride at the table in the beautiful light, is fantastic and really pops. The problem is that once I enter the site I really have to dig though a lot of run-of-the-mill images before I get to a few that prove to me that that image wasn't just lightning in a bottle. It makes visitors to your site feel that maybe that one spectacular image was a fluke. I really had to spend a lot of time digging though what should be considered outtakes before I got to anything that comes close to comparing to your lead image.
My advice: thin down the images significantly. You've got some good stuff tucked away in there but most people aren't going to spend the time to find it.
Good luck. |

->> aloha kirby.
humbly...perhaps you could make it look not-so-iweb-ish.
using iweb for a website is cool, just make it your own. heh.
i used iWeb to create my site...

->> I think that Brian is correct.
You really need to focus on what you do really well and only show that. |

->> The link worked fine for me. I agree that you have too many images that look the same on your site. If this is a portfolio type site, then you want to have no more than say 20 images per category. And ideally they should be different from each other, showing versatility. If you have a number of good shots of one person/couple/scene, choose one, and leave the rest out. You always want to give viewers the desire to see more. You never want to give them the sense that they have seen enough. Less is more in this case.
Also make sure the images you have on your site have something in them that draws people to them. A competent portrait is not enough to show in your portfolio, it has to have that something else. |

->> Great feedback everyone, I appreciate those who took the time to take a look, despite either the dial-up type speed or the denial of service errors.
With the feedback everyone has provided. I will slim down the number of photos that are up and I will also be looking for a new webhost since 1and1 has proven to be so inconsistent.
Mahalo Kent for making the website less iWebby. I'm currently working on a non iweb alternative to debut by next year, but this is sufficient for the interim.
Thanks all. If there are any other suggestions, please feel free to sound off. |
