->> First off let me say that this is not a personal attack on Jody, im sure Jody is a really nice person, and this is probably just bad timing by me, but do we need to advertise every time we get published. If we are professional photographers with professional equipment gaining special access to events we should be getting published.

->> "Getting published" is not the same as "being featured."
I have not seen the article but the way Les describes it, 'Jody the Photographer' is featured. Sportsshooter.com members are published many times every day but are subjects of feature stories much less often. |

Probably the same or similar story to what Shutterbug did last year with Jody. A discussion of her business model and how she makes a living as a photographer. Certainly nothing that would interest anyone here. After all she doesn't spend anytime tearing anyone to pieces, doesn't lament that the 3 GWC's on the sidelines are killing her business or whether Nikon or Canon is the way to go. All in all just what she has done to be successful, boring.
Les could you hold off until Rockwell posts some kind of mind blowing review of how to use a pringles can as an extension tube or something truly valuable to us.

->> Every time a photographer is feature is GREAT for the BIZ. A single sentence can help over 1,000 wannabe/students shooters out there and plenty more in here.
A few more sentences can teach them about ©, protecting their work, dealing with clients, charging what is right and saying NO to bad deals.
So yes the info and motivation that you can get from those pages is usually priceless to a person who is learning and to many pros as well.
Great job Jody!

->> Thanks Les and everyone. This isn't as big of a deal as it sounds though - they run this feature about every other month. I can always tell when it runs because my email is flooded with questions and requests for help from photographers. Personally, I'm getting tired of seeing the same old photos in the piece month after month. Ha Ha.

| ->> Congrats Jody!! and well said Manuello. I actually learned a very valuable lesson from a post very similar to this on another site. It was pertaining to the sale of photos and a contract issue. Had I not seen the post I would have taken the long way to learn and probably added to the damage being created daily in our industry by the simple lack of knowledge. |
