->> Much has been said about the people who have passed in the last few weeks, but I must say the one who touched my life the most was John Hughes through his iconic movies.
I was born in '78, so my formative years were spent watching his films, and they probably shaped me and my hopeless romantic persona more than anything (there is a little bit of Duckie and Clark Griswold all of us...) |

| ->> Absolutely, John Hughes was a talented, unpretentious filmmaker who made "the stories of our lives". Probably some of the most memorable films for anyone who lived through the 80s. |

->> I'll second that, being born in 78 as well, I think I will always view the 80's through the eyes of John Hughes and his movies.
Thanks for posting this. |

->> I graduated in 86 so I grew up to these and it defiantly brings me back when I run across one of these great films.
How great and simple was Breakfast Club. Amazing what can be done with a small budget and a lot of talent. |

->> Can't resist, and I know it will pull tons of groans from the peanut gallery, but will they play "Don't You Forget About Me" during his memorial?
Not only were his movies great, but the soundtracks were pretty good too! |

->> I'm a old guy but Ferris Bueller's Day Off is one of the funniest movies ever made. Breakfast Club had so many future stars in it it's almost unbelievable.
I had a check up with my cardiologist yesterday and they took me off some drugs. John Hughes had a heart attack and died. Guys in particular, get yourself checked out. Don't ignore the signs.. they ARE there.
RIP Mr. Hughes. |
