| ->> I was going to experiment with making a documentary. Is the Canon XL 1 a complete "has been"? It seems like there are some decent deals on E bay. |

->> It was a great camera for its time but I would put the money towards a HD camera.
Even if it's only for the web, there are a lot of sites dishing out 720p content. |

| ->> As Myung knows, I just sold both my XL1Ss- they are really great cameras, but after replacing them with an XHA1s, a HV30 and HV40 I've never looked back. So now they're just nostalgic... The footage from the HV30 is just stunning.... |

->> I have an XHA1 and just recetly purchased a full XL1s package used here on SportsShooter. The image quality of the A1 is amazing. However, I really like the feel and control layouts of the XL1s and the quality for SD is very good. However, I think I will sell the 1s and buy the HD version.

| ->> Just learned that Canon won't service the XL 1 or 2 and the authorized service location can't get parts for these cameras. He actually said it would be a mistake to buy one. Kind of scary - thank you guys for the input. |
