->> I've searched but I havent quite found what I was looking for. I have an external Lacie 1TB that I use with my Mac for video and photos.
I've had no issues since buying it last April. Now and when I need it most my drive wont mount. I've looked in System Profiler and found it described as "Unknown Device". I've tried Firewire and USB 2.0, including unplugging everything for about 15mins.
I am really hoping some of you out there have experienced similar issues with the Lacie drive, help is appreciated.
Thanks.

| ->> Use Disk Warrior. It will fix it. Sounds like the drive has missing or damaged volume headers. Disk Warrior can rebuild new ones for you. |

->> I have several external 1 TB Lacie drives and had an issue like yours where my Mac wouldn't recognize it. At first, I thought I had a bad cable or port but it turned out to be a defective ac power supply. A few months later, I had two others fail on me. Lacie seemed to be aware of the issue, as they rushed a couple new ones out to me, no questions asked.
Try hooking it up using another ac adapter with the same output voltage, and see if that resolves your problem. Hope it works for you! |
