->> My hilarious pro shooter buddy from Toronto said this...

"Do you need strobes? Then this place is THE bomb! Anyone he talk to in rentals will be more than happy to help him out. If your friend wanted to say that Stephen Edgar sent him then, WHO KNOWS!? They may very well just hang up on him....or they could just say "who???", OR they may just hand him the keys to the shop!"

"This is the place to go for film production. While they do not have any strobes.....they have EVERYTHING else. Talk to Dan St.Amour and mention my name, he'll take your friend under his wing."

->> Another vote for Headshots. They've been awesome for me. Always courteous and eager to get you sorted out. They rent Profoto, Broncolor, Speedo and Bowens in terms of lights.

I also believe they don't put a full credit hold on your credit card for the replacement value when renting lights like Profoto, where as Vistek holds the entire amount. Maybe not a big deal for everyone, but when you're a student or someone on limited credit, every little bit helps.

->> Bob,

For a full range of lighting gear from a number of manufacturers, Vistek & Headshots are about your only options. They both carry all of the major brands with all of the bits & pieces you may need including grip and all of the accessories.

As to customer service.....YMMV. I've never had any real issues at Vistek and I've been dealing with them for almost 20 years.

->> Headshots is without a doubt the best place to deal with, for anything rentals, in the Toronto area.

Also, if you know you need something well in advance, they'll almost always ship to a Henry's around you so you can pick it up there.

Love them.
