5D Mark II video remote?

| ->> I'm trying to find a way to remotely start/stop video capture on the Canon 5D mark II for a project this weekend. Does anyone have any experience with this? I wouldn't need to see the video live... just looking for an equivalent of a still remote, but in video mode. |

->> At this time remote trigger of the video mode is not available on the camera.
You must have someone, or some thing, push the video start button on the back and if you are shooting more than 30 minutes you have to restart because of time limits.
I know one person who has rigged up a mechanical "thumb" to push the button but that is a real do-it-your-selfer project. |

->> You can actually use the RC-1 or RC-5 to start and stop recording remotely, but you have to be in front of the camera and within 15-20 feet.
If you don't need to be very far from the camera, this could work for you.
Hope that helps.

| ->> I've heard you can use the $999.99 canon wifi grip, but for that price you might as well rig up a mess of mechanical thumbs. They could also come in "handy" if you ever have to hitch-hike home from a game. Zing! |

| ->> Someone needs to take apart a Canon RC-1 and rig up an input for a Pocket Wizard. At roughly $25 for the RC-1, it is not a huge risk if it doesn't work. |
