university bids

->> Hey all,
looking ot bid on sports photo work for a university but having problems, as the bid asks for cost of photos for the athletes and THEN one for the university. I a might confused that they aren't asking for licensing rights but asking for a bid on prints. It asks when stuff after a game is ready for web and prints. Could use advise on how to approach this. I want to stay in the boundaries of the RFP but think it ought be about licensing for programs, brochures etc. Any ideas? it's my first time at any type of bid process. And frankly, I am a bit stumped..feel free to call me.

->> Jeff,
Can't. It's a bidding process and at this point the questioning period is over. Bummer, I heard about this late in the process..That's why I am looking for advice from SS members. Thanks, tho.

->> Andy put up the bid listing pricing for athlete prints and university prints priced on the idea of 8x10 or 16x20's to hang in the halls. IF you win the bid you can then discuss licensing when and if they come to you looking for images for brochures, web, merchandising, etc.

They are asking for VERY SPECIFIC bid parameters. Don't over think the bid, give them exactly what they are asking for. You are assuming that they don't know about licensing and you could be right or you could be wrong and its something that they want to deal with later... Don't cut yourself out of the process by putting in a bid that will lose based on you wanting to give them what you think they need versus what they want.
