->> Hey everyone, I wanted to run this by a few of you to see if any of you has a suggestion, solution or thoughts on this issue I'm having with viewing streaming videos on my Mac.
I have a G4 running OSX Version 10.4.11. The computer has a dual 867 Power PC 1MB L3 cache per processor and includes 1.25 GB of RAM. My internet speed is through the cable system running at 19.46 MB/S download speed and 1.28 MB/S upload. Often my speed tests indicate it runs even faster, often at 25 MB/S.
Regardless of what it reads, streaming videos do just that. They stream, not play. They're very choppy. On my Windows laptop I had, which had less ram and the processor speed was under 1GB, streaming video ran perfectly normal with no issues. I use a G5 at work with no issues either.
Does anybody have any idea why this would be so slow on my Mac and is there anything that I can do about it? |

->> Jeff,
What browser are you watching it in? Update to the latest version of your browser and try again. If that fails, empty the cache, history, etc. Try another browser and see what happens. |

| ->> Jack, that sounds about as reasonable as anything I've heard, I upgraded to the latest version of Safari and Firefox and neither helped. |

->> The Dual Processor G4's graphic card can be upgraded but good luck finding the correct Mac version of the card.
The Dual G4 is 6-7 years old by now. With the price of upgrading the video card and the processors, you're better off picking up an intel Mac. |
