->> I've got the Bogen monopod tilt/swivel head with quick release for my monopod but I'm having issues keeping the qr plate tight on a canon 300mm. The lens and qr always want to twist away from each other, causing the whole thing to be sloppy. I tried buying the architectural anti-twist plate to solve the issue, but the connection still loosens up over a relatively short period of time.
Wondering if anyone is using any other tilt heads with qr that don't loosen up as easily. |

->> Erik you should switch to an "Arca Swiss" type quick release and plates that are matched to your gear. Every other plate system is total junk.
I've been using them for years and can't imagine how I got along without. The plates don't twist ever. I keep the plates on each camera and my 400mm with quick release clamps on each of my tripods, remote ball heads and monopods. I prefer the plates and clamps from KirkPhoto.com but the ones from ReallyRightStuff are excellent as well. |

| ->> I second the Arca Swiss recommendation. I have never had a bit of trouble with any combination I have used. |

->> Underneath the qr plate should be extra holes, one of them should be threaded, just buy a grub screw {allan type} and turn it into the hole from the bottom, it should catch one of those grooves at the bottom of your collar foot, and be a bit more stable, BUT......
I also use the arca swiss excusively, but remember on the 300 there's only one mount hole. But if you buy a plate with the little feet at the one end, it helps with the unwanted rotation if you fit it correctly.

see that the 3 smaller plates got two 90 degree stopperfeet at the back. You should fit that end to the corner/front of your collar foot, and it would stop the rotating. |

->> I have the small Bogen/Manfrotto tilt/swivel head that uses the rectangular plate. It has the 1/4 20 attaching screw, and one small set-screw to prevent twisting.
The are two addition holes in the plate. I had a machine shop tap them and install two more set-screws. No more twisting. |
