| ->> Finnaly breaking down and buying an ipod . My limit is $300. I ca n get a 16 gb ipod touch for that money. I will be traveling a lot this football season and the wifi could be nice. Is 16 gb enough for a ton of music and maybe one movie on the ipod touch? I am also buying because my current car has a dying cassette p[laying and I can play the ipod through the fm I am told. so which should I get thanks David |

->> If you don't need it until football season, I'd hold off and wait for the new ones to be released.

->> The Ipod touch is nice if you use it with wifi, because you can sync it with apps, email, etc. My 8 GB holds all the songs I own (only 200 or so), plus 30 episodes of my shows. But if you only use it for video/music, get the Ipod Classic with a bigger size than 16 GB.
If you have videos that are not in iTunes yet, you can use iSquint (free) to convert the files to the proper format so you can import them into iTunes and then view them on your iPod/iTouch.

| ->> I have an 8GB and it is just fine. It was a gift and originally I thought it would be marginal. Not the case at all. I have multiple portfolios of photos on it, hundreds. I have music, more than I remember I have, podcasts, misc videos, and multiple movies that I change off as I get tired of them. I have my calendar, contacts, bookmarks, all that stuff. So yes, 16gb should be good. |

->> I have an ipod classic. I decided to get a touch to use for email since almost everywhere I am has free wifi (university campus). It was a cheaper option than a phone with data plan for checking emails. The apps are pretty cool but in my experience listening to music sucks if you're doing something that requires attention. It's not easy to change the song while driving or when I'm out cycling or running.
Plus my 16gb touch was only 200 bucks at Best Buy. It was a repackaged return but nothing wrong with it. Sweet deal |

| ->> love my 16GB ipod touch. I have 1658 songs and 41 apps and over 100 pics on it, and still have 2.5 GB of space to fill. |

| ->> I'd go with the classic. You can get a refurbished one directly from Apple, with the full year warranty on it, for $209 for the 120gb model. If you're not filling it to the brim with music and movies, you can use all of the extra space as a portable hard drive. Backup your shoots on the road for extra protection. |

| ->> My 80gb (I think that's what it is) classic is overkill if all you put on it is music and a couple of Allen or Grover's podcasts. 1315 songs, 2 podcasts = 4.8 used GB! Still I couldn't part with having my music with me. |

| ->> For me, the iPod Touch doesn't really fit the bill well because it doesn't have enough capacity- and the biggest thing: it's next to impossible to use if you're in the car. The controls of the iPod Classic are much easier to use while not looking at the unit. |

->> I broke the CD player at my shop and the guy at the shop convinced me to go for an iPod rather than a CD player...
Man am I glad I did. I bought the 120 gb 'classic' and have loaded more than 5200 songs and only used 31 gb thus far.
My pal has a terrabite hard drive with several hundred of his CD's loaded up that I am going to get from him this afternoon. It will be nice to just grab everything I think I will like.... I have room.
Oh, at my shop I hit SHUFFLE SONGS and well, I have not heard the same song twice in the past 2 weeks. |

->> Steve, getting your friend's CD's is the music equivalent of stealing copyrighted photos. Just sayin.
David, Apple won't drop the prices (they never do), but judging by their past history, they will be coming out with a newer product at the current pricepoint. |
