->> In celebration of the All-Star game in St. Louis next week the staff of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch did a multimedia project on how Cardinals baseball games permeate life in St. Louis. Its often said St. Louis has the best baseball fans in America.

->> Man, that's really nice stuff.
Your staff should be proud, the individual vignettes really stand on their own, great story telling.

->> Dave:
I just got back across the river to my office, I was downtown shooting some All Star features outside the stadium, and I saw J.B. at the little kids "Home Run Derby" event. He mentioned this project and I am glad you posted the link here for everyone to see. What a great job! You all did a really nice job of integrating the stills with the video and the storyline is topnotch!

It's missing a photo/video of Mike Shannon with an ice cold frosty one... |

->> I've been a Cards fan since I was 5. Lived there for about 2 years when I got out of college. I loved the town. There's no doubt that when it comes to professional sports, the Cards OWN the town. Part of it was that Bill Bidwell was and still is a terrible NFL owner, but over the years, the Cards won more often, and they've been in STL almost forever.
I've often said it takes three things for a professional team in any sport to win: Good players, good coaches and good management/owners. The Cards usually have all three, and that's why they're usually in contention.
FWIW, the 1987 World Series, with the two baseball teams I love the most, the Cards and the Twins, was the best series I've ever seen. Course, I was happy when it was over, because the lack of sleep was killing me.
