->> I applaud them but somehow I think the press needs Britney more than the other way around. Pretty sure she isn't going to have any trouble selling tickets even if they don't run any after the fact reviews, which actually are of very little value in the first place to a tour.
Tours want coverage, artist interviews etc BEFORE a show. Thats what sells tickets. Reading about something thats already over has little marketing value, at least in terms of popular music.
Real question would be if these same papers would decline to run paid ads promoting the shows over the boycott ?
Are there any publications that would decline ad revenue because they aren't allowed to, or dont like the terms required to cover the show ??
My weekly newspaper for example wasn't even allowed to shoot the tour, they said only the major daily, but we didn't have any issues taking their money for ads marketing the show. |
