| ->> I'll trade you, Kodak 8660 with 200 sheets of paper and ribbon. Some Nikon lenses and gear or possibly many other things. what are you looking for ? |

| ->> David, I have a 1D also. The prices I see on the classifieds (about $700) won't get me to sell it. It's worth more to me to keep it, at least for daylight sports like soccer and baseball. |

->> Hey David,
Prices range on the original 1D from $350-700, depending on what is included [Chargers alone are worth $125 easily] like batteries, charger, how many clicks, etc.. |

| ->> I say keep it, even if its in a glass cabinet. I wont sell my mint 1d for anything. Its just not worth looking after something that old, and then selling it for nothing |

->> David:
Agreeing with the others here -- I suggest you keep it.
The noise is not so great, but shot on RAW, that camera still produces some very usable images (at least for newsprint and web).
I might add that it's not a bad idea to have a beater handy for use with shots that, well, might be hazardous to a camera's health. We have a locker full of old 1D's and I've used one a couple of times for stuff I would NEVER think of doing with my IIn's or III ...
FWIW ... you might maybe make a couple of hundred bucks if you sell, but I do believe you can find use for it if you decide to hang on to it.
Cheers,

->> The 1D is way under rated. When you are not shooting any thing for print, 4.1 is plenty. Like said before the sync at 1/500 is pretty cool too. Fast auto, and any thing under 800 ASA is just fine. Battery life is no where close the newer generations however its still a work horse.
I have never been able to sale my Canon 1D even with several offers. It is just a great camera and if my Mark IIn ever takes a crash, it will be there to get the job done. The few hundreds you may get is not worth getting rid of a great body. |

->> I'd hold onto it as well. I just sold both of my 1D bodies for a fraction of what I bought them used for only a year or two ago. Their price value is dropping, but they maintain value as a camera.
If you do want to drop it on the market, I'd say a reasonable starting price for a good-condition body (20K clicks is outrageously low for a 1D) is $550 without NC-E2, $670 with charger. You'll likely have to drop the price, but that's to be expected.
Take it out on your next daylight sports shoot or strobed shoot and put some RAW files through, then make your decision. |

->> Yes, I'm going to agree with most of the others - KEEP IT !
I bought a 1D back in May specifically to use as a remote/extra body for a tournament I was shooting, with the intention of selling it after the tournament. The body had about 50,000 actuations on it and I paid $450 for it (which I thought was a good deal). Cosmetically it was very well taken care of, too ....
And now I've decided against getting rid of it .... The only knock I had with it was the battery drain with that body compared to my IIN's ....
If you're serious about getting rid of it, though, I might be interested ..... ! |

->> Thanks all for your advice....I am going to be selling it after all and posting to sportsshooter. It will have three batteries, one is brand new in the canon box, never charged, and will include the charger, original box as well. thanks
