Photomechanic - How change - assign keyboard key function.

->> Hi everybody.

Someone know a way to assign - change some keyboard key to specific menu function as Rescan Contact Sheet ?

With my Mac G4 12", for example, to rescan a folder I am obliged to press "Command+Arrow Key+7" to see the new images added into a folder.

Under my umbrella, during the rain, with only one hand and the other still on my camera.......that's a little difficult !

I'd like to assign a only key to do it.

I know that there is a special setting inside photomechanic to automatize this rescan.

However it is not very fast......

Any ideas how to re-mapping th keyborad key ???

THANKS,

Fabio.

->> If you are using OS X you can basically remap any keyboard shortcut.
Using the Keyboard & Mouse preference pane.

For more info See this link:

(The menu name in PM is Rescan).

I think that you also should be able to use the remap command shortcut key for that is F5.

->> What version are you using? The shortcut for "Rescan" on my copy of 4.6.1 is "Command /" which are right by each other.

->> THANKS Daniele, thanks Kevin.

Good suggestions.

With my G4 12 " and Mac os 10.4.8 I can use until Photomechanic version 4.5.4.
To use the 4.6.1 I have to upgrade to 10.4.11.

I already tried to upgrade to this last mac Os X version but the result is a lot of of error of the system with this 12 " alluminium.

So I re down grade to the prior version 10.4.8

I read into the web of several errors using this 10.4.11 version with several older powerbook.

I check the Preference Panel to Mouse and Keybord ( as your suggestions ) and I FOUND how to do it !!!!

THANKS again.

Fabio.

->> Glad you got it working. As a side note I'm running 10.4.11 with no problems on my 12" G4 PowerBook so it is possible. However as you mentioned maybe not worth the trouble.
