Photo Mechanic Question...

->> not really sure if this is a PM question or even how to classify it so here goes....

I am captioning my images using the latest PM. Everything shows up on my end, including when I open the images in Photoshop. However, when I transmit the images to my paper, somehow they are not getting my captions. The captions are showing up when I transmit them elsewhere. Does anyone know what is going on and what to do? I haven't changed a thing and the paper was getting my captions up until last week.
I am stumped

->> If everyone else is getting captions and the paper was also getting cations before then something must have been changed on the paper's end to not make it work. You could try entering everything in PS in a test image to see if that works.

It sounds like a silent update on the paper's end that broke them from getting captions.

and that person knows the product inside and out and most likely can give you answer.

->> Debra,

In your FTP configuration settings there's a checkbox to apply the current IPTC stationery to the transmitted files. Did this somehow get set inadvertently?

Only thing I could think of that would cause it on your end...

->> transmit using Fetch and not the FTP in PM
as I said-when I send the same files to another place, the captions are all there

->> Yah...then it's probably on their end.

Here's a test: Upload a test file via FTP, then immediately use FTP to grab the file back from the server. Compare the grabbed file with the file you originally sent. They should be the same. If they are, it means your part is working correctly and there's nothing you can do.

Probably something changed on how the images are pulled off the server not letting the iptc or xmp data through.
