Remote camera protection?

->> Hello all,
I'm writing to find out what others use as protective enclosures for remote cameras at sports venues.
When a camera is placed in or near a goal, ontop of the glass behind the goal, does anyone use any kind of protective enclosure? or case? if so, which type?
I'll be doing a baseball tournament, and would like to use a remote inside the backstop, shooting down the 3rd base line including home. I'm concerned about foul balls striking and destryoing my camera and lens.
Thanks in advance for any input. |

->> John I had 2 shields crafted this past winter from 1/2" Lexan. If you have the fabricator do the bending for you and do your own drilling they're not that expensive. I can look up the invoice if you need a contact. The company was in northern Mass., 2 week turn around, they have to 'dry' the Lexan so that they can bend it without bubbles forming in the plastic, the first 1/2" sheet they bent had all kinds of bubbles in the bend.
A 12"x24" sheet bent in half to produce a 1x1 foot L was somewhere in the neighborhood of $90. I went large after a conversation with Yamil got me thinking of 'other' applications. |
