D 700 Question

->> I am used to using Nikon's D2 line, however, I am grabbing a D 700 now (quality of image). So here is the question. I usually "tag" photos by pressing the audio record button on the D2 models. That allows me to easily figure out which photos I want to look at when I get to editing. Is there any way to "tag" the photos the same way with the D 700?
And for the purists out there who think I should wait and download everything and look at it, and not tag anything (ect.) - this is a one-man show. I have the best process down for me. I would love to have my editors take a look at it before hand, but that's not the world I live in! Again, one-man show. Thanks for any help... this is a great forum - I don't post often, but I do read often. |

->> Do you use Photo Mechanic? If you don't, invest in a license. Worth every penny and then some.
On the D700 f you hit the little "key" button for your tagged images, Photo Mechanic will recognize your in-camera tagged images and depending on how you have your P.M. preferences set up, will import them first so you can immediately begin editing your field selects.
So bottom line: Key button on the D700 and Photo Mechanic make for happy editing. |

| ->> I figured my question was a little stupid, but that's the answer I needed. I do used photo mechanic, and it is pretty awesome. |

->> I encountered the same problem when trying to transition away from the D2x. My solution was somewhat old-school: shooting some marker or even a series of blank frames so that when editing images later on, I would be able to quickly locate key images.
Matt's approach sounds like a better idea. |

| ->> Yeah, I do that when I shoot video, but the problem with this is that I want to have the file itself noted. With the audio that went with the photo on the d2s you could pick it out with no problem. I think the lock will do the same thing... i hope. |
