on wednesday, june 3rd, vigils are being held nationwide for American journalists Euna Lee and Laura Ling who have been detained in North Korea for nearly 3 months. the pair was detained at the North Korea and China border while doing a story on refugees in China. they are scheduled to go on trial tomorrow in North Korea's highest court.
we are desperately urging the governments of the United States and North Korea to keep the humanitarian issue separate from the larger geopolitical stand-off. We hope that our two countries can come together to secure the expeditious release of Euna and Laura on humanitarian grounds.
