| ->> Wow, I just pulled mine out of the file cabinet and couldn't find it either. I know that I turned one in to the insurance company. Must have been from the box that it came in. |

| ->> On the botton under the lens mount, very faint etching... you've got to look at it under just the right light. |

->> Debra,
If you have a vertical grip on the camera, take it off. That will make it easier.
The number should be on the black part of the lens mount on the underside of it, not the silver-round part, but the black, flat part. It's hard to describe but look at the black area that protrudes from the body all the way from the prism to underneath neath silver ring mount.
Looking at the camera from the front you should see two tiny screws just below the area that sticks out. The serial should be between these screws on the bottom of the flat part, shift the camera back and forth under the light to see -- it's very faint. |

| ->> debra, hold the camera as tho you were shooting it. now, turn it upside down. very faintly, etched in grey on the black plastic lens mount in the number, in the middle. if you held a string at the tripod mount and drew it up to where the lens would be, it would intersect it. |
