->> There are some serious problems with this case, that could end up with your lense falling out the bottom. This case comes with the 200-400 f/4 VR

It's freaking hilarious!!

I bet hald the SS.com members that use this lens have never even unrapped the Nylon case for this lens and it't almost always carried in a Roller Case on mounted on a Monopod.

It seemed to me like the OP was simply relaying information to the masses and made one little remark that it was disappointing that a case for a $6000 lens may be defective enough to allow the lens to simply fall out the bottom. That seems reasonably disappointing to me.

For what it's worth, I occasionally use the semi-soft case that came with my 300/2.8 VR as it's really a pretty nice and compact case offering good protection for my lens and a body when I need to go to a shoot with only the right amount of equipment. I consider myself a pro, even if others may not. So, I guess pros do use the cases supplied with their equipment from time to time.

In fact, if I recall correctly (and I may not), a recent feature here profiled SI shooter John McDonough's equipment and it looked like some of the lenses were packed in their Nikon-supplied cases before going into his Lightware cases.

Go easy on those people. There's a nice mix of pros and enthusiasts on that site. Let them have their fun. No need to rub their noses in the fact that you're a pro and some of them are not.

->> I was being sarcastic and it went over their heads!!

The OP was mad because he had to send his case in and put his lens in a Paper Sac. Now, how is sensible is that?? This guy was Pissed because Nikon told him that his case might break, they would Pic up the shipping for his old case and give him a new one and he was pissed??

Sometimes it goes overboard, I was being an idiot on purpose, to show how ridiculous some folks get.

->> FWIW, I hate Nikon cases, both soft and hard!!

I rather put my Nikon Lenses in Canon Pouches inside my Airport Security Roller!! I have purchased several Canon Pouches here in SS.com for that purpose only!!
