the "like a gazelle with a firework up it's bum...." analogy or the "simple one this, don't just take one photo, take a succession of photos, one of them is bound to turn out nice" piece of advice. |

->> The advice at 0:49 seconds is the best.
"Love your camera and all it's foibles. Give your camera a name like Charlene."
Sheepishly I name all my cameras. I name pretty much anything over $2,000.
My car: Trixie (After speed Racer's girlfriend).
My now sold 1D Mark II's: Thelma 1 & 2 (After my late grandmother).
My current 5D Mark II: Ox (The shutter sounds like it's saying "Ox, Ox, Ox," everythime I press the shutter).
P.S. I don't know why I am sharing this with the world, I will regret this in the morning :) |

->> I especially loved this part of the comment: "Human action (as opposed to something like motor sports) can yield sharp action photo's at around 1/200, sometimes even a bit less."
I must not be a very good photographer because I still can't get a sharply focused peak action photo at anything less than 1/300th !
Maybe I should watch the video again and pay more attention.

It puts me to shame. I quit? |

I don't even know where to begin, so I'm not going to bother. The list is just too long to type up. Are you sure this isn't originally from Funny or Die? |

Wrong on so many levels! Where's PETA when you need 'em? Probably dressing up in pig costumes and throwing pies, I guess.
Funny as he##. And a little sad, too. |

For a gazelle with a firework up its bum, which setting would you use? Sports, or nature? |

I'm thinking a paycheck is more impressive in today's photo world. |

at least he has a DSLR, was in a high end people class at a reputable school and was shown a video of a so called fashion photographer chasing the models around a barn with a point and shoot camera... |

->> Mark,
Good catch there.
So along that same theme..... (apologies to the USMC)
This is my camera. There are many like it but this one is mine. My camera is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. Without me, my camera is useless. Without my camera I am useless. I must fire my camera true. I must shoot straighter than my competition, who is trying to outshoot me. I must outshoot him before he outshoots me. I will. Before God I swear this creed: my camera and myself are defenders of my country, we are the masters of our enemy, we are the saviors of my life. So be it, until there is no enemy, but peace. Amen. |
