->> Hi Ray:
Firstly, .zip is a format for compressing files. Usually, it is used to compress a folder of files into a smaller single file for transmitting to another user. Do you need to send the actual RAW files? If so, place all the files into a single folder, then right-click or control click on the folder. A menu will pop-up and you will see Compress "folder". Select that and it will create a new compressed file with the .zip file extension.
"Zipped" can be opened on PC or Mac.
If your client wants jpegs, convert them first, then place in a folder and Compress them.
Hope this helps!

| ->> And as a side note if anyone is still running OS X 10.4 Tiger the option you're looking for is "Create Archive." They renamed it to "Compress" in 10.5 Leopard. |

->> I've run into some problems using the "compress" built into the computer. It's made extra files a few times when the .zip is uncompressed.
I've started using YemuZip and the problem disappeared.

| ->> Atleast on the pay version of YouSendIt, the program I use for it has a compress option when sending. You can load in a folder of images and then it'll compress them and send them. I love that site/program. I've used it a ton lately. |

->> For future reference, imho, the easiest way to deliver any image file is through PhotoShelter. You can upload through Photo Mechanic directly (including RAW files), and then password protect and hide a gallery and they can download either the original file or just a jpeg, or just a small jpeg, you decide.
It is very intuitive for the client, I have never had delivery glitches like I have had with other servers (mac.com stinks), you don't have to worry about email issues and you can see exactly when the image is downloaded.
It is very affordable, especially considering your cost is built in to your digital delivery fee. |

| ->> Ray, to do exactly what your client requested there is a Send Options dialog in YouSendIt and one of the selections is to zip files before sending. I use it a lot and it works just fine. |
