I am trying to find out who to contact in order to get credentials for the Moto GP race at Indianapolis coming up at the end of August.
Could anybody point me in the right direction?
Many thanks!

| ->> I believe credentials are very limited for this event just as F-1 was. Contact the client services office at IMS admin building. |

| ->> I was told by the PR Dept. at Laguna Seca that there will only be 10 photo passes issued for the US per event. So you need to contact the client services office at IMS for more information regarding your question. |

->> Your correct Mike, just like F-1 only 10 photo credentials per country. I never understood that rule. Seems to me like more photographers the more photos come from the event.
Just based upon my habits before I really got into photography, after the Indy 500 I would open the sports section of the local paper to look at the photos first, then read the articles. |

->> Yes, it's very tight. I work at the Indy Star, and it's a challenge to get the access we want with MotoGP/F1. We get a bazillion creds for Allstate400/Indy500. That said, the MotoGP course fairly accessable, and there are some great spots to get good images using only a ticket to the event and LONG glass (600mm). No need for extra access if you're looking for bikes on the track.
If you want the full credential, your best bet is to secure one through a major player like Getty, USAToday, SI, if you have the contacts. |

->> re: credentialing at ANY motoGP event...
first off you must have your editor/publisher send in an application showing previous published work of yours in their magazine..... IIRC it is 10 photos with your name showing on that page [images of the magazine].
You must submit your credentialing requests to the media department at Indy [easy to find on the INDY website] with very clear instructions.
DORNA has the final say and all applications go through DORNA ultimately.
If you do not have an assignment with a print publication that normally covers MotoGP then it is not going to happen.
Laguna Seca is the same..... Everything is spelled out on their site as well including the online application. |

| ->> I can second that very difficult to require a full access pass you need to know the right people in the press office as there are lots of press, also there are different levels of passes that dictate where you can go including within the pit areas. |
