->> Pat-
ASMP Houston has a Facebook page anyone can join so you can get regular updates. We should have a new local website soon, when the national site re-launches, but for now, FB is what we're using.

->> Robert,
Thanks for posting this.
I saw Dave's presentation in Richardson, TX as part of the Dallas PPA meeting last night and I can say it was well worth it!
Dave showed some of his past Olympic work and some of his current projects with Speedlight lighting and also some of his lightpainting.
As Rafael points out, it is well worth the effort to go see him! |

->> Many thanks to ASMP/Houston and Nikon, as groups, and personally to Robert, Dave and Richard for making this event happen.
Robert thanks again for the invite.
If anyone finds themselves in a visual rut, look at Dave Black's work and learn. More than an eye opener, it is a mind opener.
Many of his techniques are quite simple but add a dynamic look to otherwise bland situations. If you want others to LOOK at your images and not just flip past them, consider learning a few things from this generous photographer.

->> Dave was nice enough to share a copy with me last night, and I highly recommend it. The quality of the printing absolutely blew me away......it's a beautiful, well designed hardcover book. There's a link to it on the bottom left of this page on his website:

Big thanks to Dave and Sara Moosbrugger from Nikon for making the trip to Houston.
If you get a chance to see Dave at any of his upcoming workshops or speaking engagements, you should definitely check him out. He definitely gets you fired-up about photography again. |
