->> I visited this exhibit, Very Interesting! But as much as the photographs, it is the thoughts of the photographers that are most interesting and from which there is something to be learned.
I might suggest buying the catalog from the exhibit, if you cannot visit it yourself.

->> I detest the use of "Photographer"... Artiest, yes... Even art photographer... is better...
I AM a legally blind photographer, and I do not consider my work as "Art" nor do I expect my clients to pass it off as "art", they expect my work in focus and to the standard of other professional better sighted photographers.
I'm legally blind, not BLIND...
My visual acuity is 20/400 with out glasses.
I don't see people making a fuss over my work (until I miss a shot)...

->> RIchard -
How are these images not up to "the standard of other professional better sighted photographers?" I found the images interesting if not compelling - not because of the lack of sight by the artist/photographer - but because of the image they captured. They may draw initial attention because their lack of sight is publicized, but that certainly doesn't define their work product, IMO. These images certainly aren't in the vein of "look there's an elephant with a paint brush splashing paint on a canvas - isn't that cool." The accolades are deserved because of the art that is produced, not the so-called "handicap" of the producer.
People will make a fuss over your work, or mine, or anyone else's when we produce an image that is so different, compelling, artistically pleasing, that it warrants the fuss. |

Maybe that's what you should worry about.
I think you totally missed the point here. I doubt anyone is going to go out and hire these artists for the kind of work the majority of us do. It's art. |

20/200 with glasses, still Legally Blind...
In most states you need 20/70 (with correction) to be able to drive... As a prospective... |
