->> As my final class as a undergrad at Ball State, two other journalism students along with myself were asked to produce a website for the Prism Project, which was a immersive learning project through Ball State, which uses the performing arts as a mean to help develop children with special needs.
Through music, dancing and singing the group of 22 children practiced every Saturday for three months to prepare for a final production which just took place last week.
It was one of the most enjoyable experiences that I have had the pleasure of documenting.
Please let me know what you think of our website.
It is very video driven so if you have a slower connection you might have some trouble. You will also have to copy and paste the address since we do not have a regular address yet. (which is on the way)
http://albuck.iweb.bsu.edu/prism/
If you would not mind taking a few minutes to look through it and let me know. Emails are welcome as well.
Thanks Josh Peckler |

| ->> Just checked it out fairly quickly, but it looks great IMO. It seems very intuitive and easy to use. A lot of Flash websites tend to be a bit over the top and get in the way of themselves, but this is nice and simple. Good job! |

->> The site seems to be a bit buggy.
If I watch the intro, I get the option to watch a variety of other videos. If I skip the intro, I get three slideshows with no information about what I'm looking at. |

| ->> When I skip the intro I get a photo on the right and nothing else. Clicking on the photo starts a slide show. There are no other menus or anything else that "clicks". |

->> Thanks to everyone for looking at the site. It seems we do have a little bug to figure out when skipping the intro video.
For now if you watch through the intro it should lead to our actual site. We are hopefully gonna get it worked out.
Thanks for the input. |

->> I haven't got time right now to go through the whole thing, but one thing jumps out at me.
My screen is set (on the laptop) at 1024 x 768 and I didn't see the skip intro part.
The second time in, after coming back here and reading that there was a 'skip intro' option, I found it. It was 'below the fold' and I hadn't scrolled down.
Unless people are expecting a video when they go to this page (and for that I like the curtains parting,) some will be turned off (as I was) by the sudden blast of sound, and instinctively hit either back or close to make it stop (as I did.)
I love video. I do video. But when you go to my web site it doesn't start playing until it's told to.
Perhaps your visitor is in a room full of people. Or an office.
As a viewer page for videos, it's great.
But I'm an old fart.
As a home page (which is what it appears to be) not so great.
In fact, having an intro page indicates to me that a site doesn't want to have me visit often, since I'd not want to go through that click to stop every time I stopped by. |
