->> Blown shutter. Lift the mirror and you'll probably see a piece of the shutter hanging.

->> They fixed my 20D 2 years ago for a little less then $500, but they had to fix a whole bunch of other stuff like the housing too. I got my 20D when they first hit the market, so it was almost 3 years old when it went on me. I had it mounted on the basket for the MEAC Men's Basketball Championship. I removed the card at halftime and only had 1 image on it. I thought when I changed the battery in my pocket wizard, I forgot to turn the darn thing back on.
The game went to the final shot which was right in front of the camera, so I knew I had the shot from the front and the back (I was sitting under the opposite basket). When I went to download the images from the card again I had 1 image, so I took the camera down off the basket and the famous ERR99 was blinking. |

| ->> I went through two shutter housing units on my 20D. Cost me $290 for the first unit, $250 for the second. Each one lasted a little more than a year. When the second shutter blew out on me, I bought a new camera. |

->> Jonathan,
I brought a 50D in February and to be honest I only use it as a remote camera, but I am seriously thinking about putting a grip on it and using it as one of my primary camera's. Even with the 1.6x crop. The images that come from this puppy are crisp and tac sharp...... |
