->> Anybody using the MiniTT1 /FlexTT5 for Canon? Reports and reviews earlier in the year seemed promising but the buzzing seems to have died down.

I've also noticed that availablity is zero or very limited.

Any updates would be greatly appreciated.

->> I don't have any yet myself, but Tri Coast did an 8 series video that is on Youtube. They did a comparison between the new mini's and radio popers. In the end they said it was close, but if you did have a lot of money tied up in wizards and were using the AlienBee lights that the radio poppers were a better option for you. In there tests with the wizards they were only getting a range of about 40-45 ft with the 580EXII. During these terst they were not using any sheilding fabric to increase the range.

->> I've already read and reviewed what has previously been posted on other sites etc.. Really looking for input from those who actually own and are using them.

Thanks.

->> I purchased a set of Flex TT5's for Canon from Jody at Roberts just as the college basketball season was wrapping up. I used the units in 2 different arena strobe settings and was able to easily obtain 1/400 synch speed with Canon Mark III cameras and Speedotron strobes. The benefit of the higher synch speed is immediately visible in the images. There is definitely a learning curve on these units but they deliver exactly what they promise for arena strobe photography. This is a great product.

One negative for me is the need to program the units on your laptop. I suggested to LPA the possibility of an IPhone application for these units and they seemed very receptive to developing an app for the new units.

->> I just got mine after a month on back order from B&H. It synced at 400 right out of the box on my MK III, with a little tweaking with the software (hyper sync settings) I got it up to 500. It worked with the multimax receiver and the 4 channel receiver. I haven't had a chance to test it with the arena strobes but it worked with a couple of dynalight strobes in the studio. I love the small size, I don't anticipate replacing as many hot shoe feet with this unit.
