->> OK, now I see the lines. I just took the G10 on a long trip by motorcycle and a lot of my video clips have this vertical line through the image... bad news...
good news: I just sent a photo to my lab to make a 20x30" print of one of the stills from my trip up to Goose Bay, Labrador and I got it back yesterday and it's absolutely amazing. It was shot at 28mm, and has almost no distortion, amazing color, and the detail ROCKS. I love that little camera!!!! |

The phenomenon you're describing is probably not related to the recall. The recall has something to do with horizontal lines in still images, not vertical lines in video images.
If the vertical streaks are around highlights, it's probably not a problem with the camera. CCD cameras will "smear" around bright hotspots because of overloading. You don't see it in stills from the same camera because the shutter cuts off the light before smear sets in. |
