Nikon Pre-release Cable from Quantaray Nikon Cable Release

->> So Ritz/Wolf Camera is closing and I was perusing the aisles the other day for things I may need. I ran across two Quantary Nikon Cable Releases for 8 bucks....which is awesome because I have a hard time finding the 10-pin cables cheap (I usually use the MC-27 cables or just buy LPA's egregiously expensive cable). I wanted to splice them to make pre-release cables for remotes.
To my surprise I popped open one of the wires and there are....three....not ten....three wires in there. Quantaray possibly eased up the process big time here or made it impossible to make a pre-release out of one of these cords. Anyone mess around with anything of the sort or have any suggestions? The only thing I could thing of is to splice as I see fit and test on a real old junk Nikon that nobody uses anymore. |

->> From what I remember of all the do-it-yourself pre-trigger guides there were only three wires of importance in those 10 pin cables...

| ->> Right, I know that. That's why it is possible that Quantary has made this easier....unless these are NOT the right three wires....the colors are also different than an actual 10-pin cable. |
